The ground-breaking partnership between The Football League and Prostate Cancer UK will seal another first this week when the charity’s Man of Men logo appears in the new EA Sports FIFA15 game released on Friday (September 26th).
The distinctive Prostate Cancer UK Man of Men logo is featured in the numbers on the back of every Football League player’s shirt this season – the first time ever that a charity’s logo has been included by a domestic league on every player’s strip. And as these world exclusive images show, the new numbers in all their detail will be included in the latest instalment of the best-selling series.
The new FIFA15 game available on Xbox One, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC includes new improved player controls, unrivalled player intelligence and unmatched authenticity. The game features all 72 Football League clubs with official club badges, kits and squad lists.
And, courtesy of the unique numerical branding, Men United will have the back of each and every Football League player within the iconic game.
Football League Head of Commercial Development Steve Maddren said: “I’m delighted that The Football League can bring a great organisation like Prostate Cancer UK together with EA Sports in this unique way through our charity partnership. Having the Man of Men on shirt numbers this season has provided a great boost in awareness of prostate cancer and this innovative step by EA Sports will only add to the success.”
Director of Fundraising for Prostate Cancer UK, Mark Bishop, added: “This is really exciting news in our continued campaign to fight back against this deadly disease as we break yet more new ground in football. Our unique relationship with every club in The Football League has really caught the imagination, and it’s great that we can spread the word to a new audience in such an innovative way. As a seasoned gamer myself, I’m looking forward to taking on all-comers, but Men United will be the biggest winners.”
Nick Channon, Senior Producer, EA SPORTS FIFA said: “We’re extremely pleased to be part of this great initiative, the inclusion of the Prostate Cancer UK Man of Men logo within FIFA 15 demonstrates the unprecedented authenticity of the game which is great, but it’s even better when it is to raise awareness for a great cause,”
From the beginning of the 2014/15 campaign, Prostate Cancer UK’s distinctive Man of Men will be included on every single player’s kit as part of his individual squad number, the logo symbolising men of all walks of life coming together in the UK.
Supporters of all 72 Football League clubs will also have the opportunity to purchase the branded numbers to accompany the replica shirts as the charity’s Men United v Prostate Cancer campaign gathers momentum.
The campaign was launched at a breakfast briefing at The Football League HQ on January 24th with comedian Bill Bailey assuming the role of team manager.
England football stars Michael Owen, Paul Scholes and Les Ferdinand have all signed up to Men United which has now got a squad of more than 190,000 members. To sign up all you need to do is do a simple online test.
