26th September 2014

A couple of frustrating weeks if you follow Ben’s Bets, a week of three draws took us so close to a second winning treble of the season, so today we’re bringing the odds down slightly with just one away team and two home favourites.

That away side comes from the Championship and a side who have seemingly found their form this season.

Leeds United’s story so far this season has been underwhelming to say the least, one manager has already come and gone and they have finally appointed a new man to lead the side in the shape of Slovenian Darko Milanic.

Milanic takes his side for the first time and they have hit a bit of form, United are unbeaten in four with the last two wins bumping the Yorkshire side up to 12th.

They travel to Brentford, a side heading in the opposite direction, two losses in a row have led into this weekend’s football and they’ve already conceded seven goals at home.

With a goal difference of -4 they are sure to leak goals too, a newly resurgent Leeds side with the new front line of Mirko Antenucci and Billy Sharpe starting to gel, I’m going for an away win.

Leeds to beat Brentford at 13/5

In League One, Yeovil are genuinely a tempting price at 6/4 to get an away win at Crawley, but as a rule I tend to avoid putting the side I support into an accumulator, the double hit of being let down on a bet, potentially by the side you cheer on doesn’t appeal.

But we won’t stray too far from the Johnson household as we look at Oldham Athletic for the League One selection.

The Latics host Scunthorpe and the home side are a short priced favourites.

Oldham are unbeaten in five, with three draws and two wins proving they are hard to break down.

Their opponents have just one point on the road all season and have conceded no fewer than 10 goals on their travels and I don’t think that will change any time soon.

It’s Johnson’s men for me in this one.

Oldham to beat Scunthorpe at 17/20

Finally, into League Two and we are backing a highflying side who host a mid-table outfit and are still a tempting price, bigger than money.

Wycombe are in third place and play a Cambridge side just into the bottom half of the table.

Wanderers have won their last two, have not lost in five and play a Cambridge side who have won just once on the road.

Games involving Cambridge have been goalfests too, seven score and seven conceded away from home with a further 11 more at home.

Wycombe are the form side, the home side and this might be a high scoring affair but one the home side should just come through.

Wycombe to beat Cambridge at 21/20

£5 returns £68.27 and that is not a terrible return for two home favourites and an inform away side, so I don’t mind suggesting the full fiver on this treble, but of course only ever bet to the level you’re comfortable.

Yeovil travel to Crawley and I’ve already mentioned that the 6/4 on an away win is a tempting single on its own, but there is a new type of bet that is taking social media by storm.

One, or both sides to score in both halves.

It’s a whopping 20/1 for both teams to score in the first half and then again in the second.

But, with Yeovil getting a clean sheet this past week I can’t see Crawley notching twice.

So, why not just focus on the Glovers? It’s 11/4 that Yeovil score in both halves on Saturday and with strikers growing in confidence, I’ll be backing it with my own confidence.

Yeovil to score in both halves at 11/4.
