The story so far…
It’s perhaps a little better than expected. Two excellent wins, and denied another only at the death by Stockport County. Seven points so far and looking a very decent defensive unit. So far, so good.
From the dugout…
Darren Sarll sets his standards high. He knows there is work to do, but said: “the lads have been very professional and it’s been a good start.”
Biggest result so far…
While Tuesday’s thumping 3-1 success at Ebbsfleet was most welcome, the first win was always going to be crucial. Getting off the mark against Eastleigh, play-off semi-finalists last year, oiled the cogs.
Star performer…
Stuart Nelson has started very strongly, but special mention must go to Albi Skendi too.
Stat attack…
League position: 7th
Home goals for: 2
Away goals for: 3
Home goals against: 1
Away goals against: 2
Who is up next…
It’s a local one, Barrow away. The 630-mile round trip won’t see too many tucked up in their bed before Sunday officially arrives. Good news though, BT Sport are covering the game live.
Their one to watch….
John Rooney. Being the younger brother of England legend Wayne, he shares his sibling’s qualities and will to win.
What can Glovers fans expect?
Apart from a long old slog? Barrow have looked good one week and struggled the next for a few years now. They have already lost three times and have let in eight goals. Can the Glovers profit?

Holker Street is a traditional Non-League ground and has been home to Barrow since 1910. It has also hosted speedway in the past. The home fans can be a demanding bunch and soon let their players know it if they’re not best pleased.
