The ever-versatile Albi Skendi has enjoyed an exhilarating start to life as a Yeovil Town player.
From being deployed at centre half, full back, and almost every spot in the midfield, Skendi has implemented himself as a vital member of the Yeovil Town squad.
Most recently, the summer signing from Stratford Town has found himself playing right back, with Town unbeaten since he took the starting position.
Speaking to YTTV about his unique role in the squad, Skendi said:
“I’ve become the James Milner of the National League! In all seriousness, I’m very pleased.
“I just want to keep going, I’m happy playing anywhere. I’ll go and do a job anywhere really; I just enjoy being out there.
“Right back has been good; I’ve really enjoyed it. I just need consistent games and I feel like I can fill in anywhere.
“I think I only need to play up front now, that would top it all off. 90 minutes up front then I’ve covered everywhere!”
Looking ahead, Town face their first FA Trophy game of the season as Welling United visit Huish Park on Saturday.
However, will not be Skendi’s first appearance in the competition, featuring last year for Stratford Town.
“Last year I played against AFC Fylde. It was a decent experience, this year now the team is a lot better and there’s a bigger expectation to win it.
“I’ve never massively been involved in many cup competitions, last year we were expected to lose so the game was our cup final, so we went there to enjoy it.
“This year is different; we need to try and win it. We’ve got a big team and everyone’s good enough, so we need to be as strong as we can be.”
