Only turning 18 last week, the left-back was rewarded with a belated birthday present by starting in the Sky Bet League Two clash against the U’s.
Impressing during his 74 minutes on the pitch, Ojo told iFollow Glovers that he’s now looking to make the most of his chance in the first-team.
“When an opportunity comes you’ve got to play with a smile on your face and enjoy it as much as you can because you never know when it’s going to end.
“I’m feeling sensational,” he said. “I made my league debut but we also won which makes it more special, but it was a real buzz.
“It was a very big win. We needed a win today and we got it so we’ve got to keep going forward now.”
The defender made his professional debut in the 4-0 Checkatrade Trophy win over West Ham United U21s in November and has had to be patient for his league bow.
Becoming the third Academy player to make his first senior appearance this season, Ojo believes there’s a clear pathway to the first-team.
“The gaffer kept telling me in training ‘stick with it, your chance will come’ so I’ve been doing that and he finally gave me a chance.
“The youth team get the opportunity to train with the first-team so if you do well, the gaffer is not scared and will definitely put you in.
“It’s a proud day for me and my family and I have to thank the gaffer for giving me the opportunity to play.”
