Town exited the FA Youth Cup after a dramatic 7-6 penalty shoot out defeat at the hands of Met Police.
It took 18 penalties for the shoot out to be decided with Arthur Warren the unfortunate Town player to miss in sudden death.
The game started evenly with both team struggling to get a control of the open stages. It was Town who started to take control and after 15 minutes the home side had a string penalty claim turned away by referee Ogles after Akinuli was upended in the box.
The second half began with the home side on the front foot and they nearly opened the scoring when Warren hit the post from close range before The Met cleared away.
With five minutes of the first half played The Met took the lead when Ethan Chislett was fouled in the area. Up stepped Luke Brant, who sent Needle the wrong way to give the visitors the lead.
The Met held the lead until the 89th minute when the Glovers equalized. A Bassett free-kick was palmed away by keeper Lunn into the path of substitute Dion Macfoy-Johnston, who made no mistake in smashing the loose ball home from close range.
Extra time passed with little action until the final seconds when Tane Caubo raced clear only to be denied by a fantastic save by James Needle.
With 17 penalties being taken and the score at 7-6 to The Met, Arthur Warren stepped up for Town, only to see his penalty hit the bar and bounce out away from the goal line.
