Aidan Stone began his career as a centre-half before transitioning to goalkeeping at the age of 14. He impressed at Sporting Khalsa and Brocton, winning Young Player and Players’ Player of the Year awards, and represented England Schoolboys U18s, helping them win the Centenary Shield in 2017.
In 2017, he joined Burnley, where he spent time with their U23s and had a loan spell at Lancaster City. Stone’s career took off when he joined Mansfield Town in 2019, making his senior debut and establishing himself as the first-choice goalkeeper in the 2020–21 season. He was recognised for his performances on the pitch and his community work but was released at the end of the season.
Stone then moved to Port Vale in 2021, where he played a key role in their promotion to League One, saving three penalties in a play-off shootout and starting in the final at Wembley. He was named Young Player of the Year and earned a contract extension. Although he faced competition for the starting role, he remained a key figure at the club.
In 2023, Stone joined Notts County, where he faced some challenges but continued to show resilience. After a loan spell at Boston United in 2024, he mutually terminated his contract with Notts County in January 2025.
On 3 February 2025, Stone signed for Yeovil Town, bringing his experience and leadership to the National League side.
