Mukena began his career with Tottenham Hotspur before moving to Watford in 2017, where he turned professional and was named on the bench for the senior side during a Premier League victory over Chelsea in February 2018. He later joined St Albans City in 2020, gaining valuable senior experience in the National League South.

Mukena joined Crawley Town in July 2023 and was part of the club’s promotion-winning 2023/24 season, featuring in the 5-1 play-off semi-final second leg victory over MK Dons that secured their place in the final.
