Saturday 13th September | Enterprise National League | Huish Park

The game looked destined to end in a goalless draw at halftime, but a second-half rally from the Glovers, powered by substitutes Aaron Jarvis and Tahvon Campbell, saw them take control of the match and find a late winner through Luke McCormick.

Dryden made one change from the side that suffered defeat at home to York City last weekend, with Ben Wodskou being awarded his first start in green and white in place of Byron Pendleton, with Josh Sims shifting to play at right wing-back.

It was a slow start to proceedings in the opening 45 minutes, which had mixed weather. The sun shone as the game kicked off, but it wasn’t until the heavens opened just before the half-hour mark that either team decided to commit players forward.

In a first half that ended goalless, the visitors came the closest to opening the deadlock in the 31st minute when Harry Beautyman’s free-kick from just outside the penalty area was turned behind by Jed Ward.

Junior Morias registered Yeovil’s first shot on goal four minutes later, firing over from a difficult angle inside the penalty area, before Luke McCormick came close in stoppage time, scooping an effort just wide from close range.

Half-Time: Yeovil Town 0-0 Woking

Town started the second half on the front foot, moving the ball at pace and creating a chance within three minutes. Ben Wodskou used his body well to open up space for a forward ball to be played to Josh Sims by Brett McGavin.

Sims received the ball and drove from deep in the Woking half to their penalty area, but his attempt rolled inches wide of the far post.

The Glovers came forward again in the 53rd minute and created their best chance of the afternoon so far just as the sun began to shine over BA22 again.

Harvey Greenslade manoeuvred his way to the byline before sending a threatening ball across goal for Morias, which he looked likely to tap home, but Woking defender Aaron Drewe came across at the last minute to get in front of the cross.

Yeovil’s first substitution came after 65 minutes, with Jarvis being brought on to offer something different in attack as Town continued to push for an opening goal.

The forward was introduced in place of Harvey Greenslade, and his aerial ability was vital in Town’s quest for their late winner.

Within nine minutes of being introduced, Jarvis had created a brilliant opportunity for the Glovers to take the lead, heading a ball into the path of Morgan Williams.

Williams only had Woking goalkeeper Tom Norcott to beat, but the defender put a volley just over the bar from close range.

Campbell was introduced up top alongside Jarvis after 82 minutes, and within 60 seconds of coming on, he nearly put Yeovil in front.

The substitute timed a run into the box perfectly, receiving the ball with just enough time to take it around the goalkeeper and after a lucky deflection, was able to send a strike goalwards, but Drewe was there once more to clear the ball off the line.

As the game entered stoppage time, it looked like the points were destined to be shared, but Jarvis did excellently to win in the air from a corner, and knock the ball down in the path of McCormick to hammer home and secure all three points at the death.
