With more goals scored during the 2016/17 campaign than in the previous three seasons, Yeovil supporters were treated to a plethora of stunning strikes to choose from.
However, Matty Dolan’s strike from inside his own half against Walsall in just the second game of the season has finished up on top after a busy weekend of voting.
The Glovers midfielder spotted home ‘keeper Neil Etheridge out of his box before looping a phenomenal effort over the Walsall stopper and into the back of the net from inside his own half.
Dolan’s strike in the Midlands was one of his three nominations for the end of season award, with the 10 nominated goals as follows:
